On September 12th this year I will be taking on the huge challenge of walking 50km (31 miles) of the Thames Path for the Girls Fund, Plan UK.

You've probably heard a bit about this campaign already - theres been a lot in the news in the past months about forced marriage, female genital mutilation and violence against vulnerable young women. 

Let me briefly tell you why I think that this campaign is so important.

I passionately support equality in every walk of life. But across the globe girls rights are threatened by poverty, unfair policies, ingrained attitudes, conflict and disasters. I believe we must speak out and support every girl, no matter where they were born or what their background is, to live safe from violence, to go to school, to take key roles in their communities, to marry who they want, when they want and to have their voices heard.

So please, however much you can afford, help me raise money for this incredibly important cause.
