Brighton Marathon 2013 · 14 April 2013 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

I never thought I would be creating a justgiving page for another marathon run but here I am...motivated to try and complete the Brighton Marathon to raise money for The Stroke Association, to show my support to my friend Claire.

Claire suffered a stroke whilst on holiday visiting family back home in the UK whilst living in Dubai. In her early 30's and one of the most generous, fun-loving and bubbly people I know; I am sure her life changed forever that day. She is lucky enough to have made an almost full recovery but lately I have become more and more aware that strokes don't just affect an older generation and are actually far more common than I ever appreciated.

So, this 26 miles will be for Claire - a gesture of my respect for the strength and courage she has shown and for my personal gratitude that I am able to even try and give it a go!

Thank you for your support, I truly appreciate it xx
