To make this marathon effort count, I'm raising money for Alzheimer's Society in memory of my gran. They're doing some great work for raising awareness and supporting families – things that go a long way towards easing a difficult and painful time in people's lives.

The marathon is 26.2 miles long so I'm aiming to raise £262 – I think £10 per mile is quite good value for money considering it's all on foot!
