Story
In just under a week I will be hiking the South West Coastal Path with my boy Brooklyn in aid of the Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
The South West Coastal Path stretches for 630miles (1,014km) running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coast of Devon and Cornwall to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Because it rises and falls with each river mouth its also seen as one of the more challenging trails. I'm told completing it is the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest four times over but I'm also told its been voted one of the best walks in the world.
Brooklyn and I will be attempting to walk half of this trail in 2 weeks (circa. 300miles or as far as our legs can carry us in that 2week timeframe). For those who know me and for those who don't, Brooklyn came into my life just under 3years ago as a puppy and has since provided boundless energy, love and companionship, whilst also being my greatest teacher. At first I was going to take this challenge on solo, however, the idea of not taking my sidekick along with me on my longest walk ever felt like a miss and I know the comradery will keep us going.
Bath Cats and Dogs Home rescue, rehabilitate and re-home over 1,100 pets every year. They are there to take in unwanted, abandoned and abused cats, dogs and rabbits to give them a second chance of a happy home. I’m fundraising for Bath Cats and Dogs Home because, like them, we want all Dogs (and Cats) to have a chance to live a happy life like we do. A donation of £50 will provide food, warmth, shelter and comfort to a rescued dog in dire need of a safe haven, for a week. £10 will look after one cat and one dog for one day. Please help by sponsoring me (and Brooklyn)- Thank you.
