As many of you know on 13/12/2013 I lost my beautiful mum to cancer at just 17 years old. 

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only 43 years old. When she first felt a lump of Christmas Day in 2009 which was only a size of a pea. The doctors told her it was stage 1 and she did not need to worry about dying. However the cancer spread to the lymph nodes in her arm which resulted to my mum having a double mastectomy, reconstruction operations, an emergency blood transfusion, Chemo and radio therapy. She lost her hair, she was unable to lift her own head to drink sips of water, was not able to work, or leave the house so she wouldn’t catch a cold. My mum did all of this while raising 3 young teenage girls as a single parent. 

In August 2013 my mum was given the all clear, her hair was growing back, she was back to work and booked a once in a lifetime family holiday to Mexico. However 2 months later, my mum was back at the doctors having a biopsy. The results came back that the cancer had not actually gone. In fact, it had spread to her liver which was now stage 4 and would likely to continue spreading...which is did. Fast! Less than a month later she passed away spending the last 3 weeks of her life in hospital. 

Every single member of all the hospital staff, our GP,  the mcmillan nurses, district nurses and everyone else who played a part in my mums journey were absolutely amazing. HOWEVER more research needs to be done so another 17 girl doesn’t have to loose their best friend at a time where you need your mum most. 

Please help me make a difference and do some good, in memory of my beautiful mum.
