Story
We are doing this in the memory of our beautiful daughter, Stevie, who would have turned 4 on the 10th of March. We wanted to mark her birthday in somehow & felt fundraising would be the best way. It will also be a personal challenge for us as we will be increasing the length of time we 'Plank' for each day by 10 seconds, starting at 30. We plan to do this for 41 days...this how long our precious girl was with us. We will start on her birthday and finish on the anniversary of her death.
Sadly, as many of you know, we were 1 of the 250 families that required Jessops Bereavement Services. Fundraising plays a vital part in how the wonderful staff support families like ours. Please only donate what you can afford...even if it's only the price of a birthday card. Every penny is gratefully appreciated.
Below is a little insight into how the Bereavement Suite supports families...
Around 8000 babies are born each year at the Jessop Wing and for most parents this is a joyful occasion and a time to celebrate, but sadly some families have to deal with the devastating heartbreak of losing a child. At such an emotionally challenging time, bereaved parents desperately need their own space. They need privacy to be together in a warm, comfortable and calming space. Our next transformation project will focus on creating a new bereavement suite, where families can spend time in serene surroundings either indoors or outside in a private, peace garden. With your help, we can make an incredibly distressing experience that little bit easier for the 250 families a year that need the support of the bereavement services. Please help us to reach our target of £230,000 in the next 12 months so we can begin to develop this new facility that will provide a haven for bereaved families, caring for them in their hours of need.
