Story
We are raising money in memory of our dear son/brother who bravely fault Glioblastoma which is a type of Brain Cancer. He sadly lost his fight on the 5th December 2020 aged just 34 years.
It was Brendan’s wish to remain at home with his family and due to the support we received from St Raphael’s during this time, we were able to grant him his wish.
At St Raphael's Hospice, they strive to improve the lives of those affected by terminal or life-limiting illnesses, giving them and their carers the confidence to cope and enjoy the best quality of life possible. They care for patients wherever and whenever they need them. They believe that hospice care is about life and living, not just death and dying. The Hospice needs £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations, legacies and fundraising to keep going. Thanks to the generosity of the public, they are able to make an enormous difference to the lives of 1,000 terminally-ill patients every year. The Hospice is not state-funded, even though every one of their patients is an NHS patient. They receive about 24% of their costs from the NHS and the remainder, more than £4 Million per year, they need to raise ourselves. Your support is greatly appreciated and really will make a difference.
