Story
We are going on a sponsored walk next Tuesday to raise money for the charity Borne. Borne's aim is to prevent prematurity, disability and death in childbirth through the groundbreaking reaserch of Professor Mark Johnson.
As most of you know, we both owe the amazing Professor a great deal. Mummy tells us we wouldn’t be here without him and we’d love to help other little girls and boys to be born healthy and safely. His research is helping to prevent prematurity, brain damage and making pregnancy safer.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Borne Walk page and sponsor this great cause. We can't wait to do the walk on July 2nd (also, mummy is very involved in organizing the event).
With love

Borne’s goal is to prevent disability and death in childbirth and create lifelong health for mothers and babies
We are walking becase:
· In the UK, more than 1 in 10 babies are born too soon – that’s nearly 60,000 every year.
· Premature birth accounts for over 70% of long term disability and death in newborn babies.
· Worldwide, over 250,000 women die during pregnancy or childbirth every year.
· 1.1 million babies die from the complications of premature birth every year.
This has to change. Borne has been created to start making changes.
Borne is led by Professor Mark Johnson. Through research we will understand how to prevent premature birth, heart disease in pregnancy and cerebral palsy. Through education, Borne will train hundreds of maternity teams in high, middle and low income countries, develop technologies to support these maternity teams, and prevent unnecessary complications in childbirth.
Borne is a collaboration between Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity (registered charity number 1067412) and the world class maternity team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
