Hermes and Gracy are two rescue cats from Greece. Their early lives on the streets were hard, but they were quickly rescued and found their permanent home--me--when they were only a few months old. This summer they turn four years old and I want to celebrate their birthdays by helping cats that haven't found homes yet. Nowzad is based in Kabul, Afghanistan and helps the pets, strays, and working animals in the province and helps to send home animals that have been adopted by soldiers. Donations of any size go to good use, the following is a list of what your money can do:
$2 will purchase a can of cat food
$4 will buy a 1kg bag of frozen fish so the cats can have a treat
$5 will treat a cat for worms and giardia or fleas and ticks
$7 will vaccinate a cat for rabies
$10 will purchase a bag of cat litter or a 2.5kg bag of cat food
$20 will feed a cat for a week
$45 will neuter a male cat and $75 will spay a female cat
$60 will pay for fuel for the van for one week, without which they cannot get out to rescue cats or get supplies
$100 will purchase a cat trap so assist in catching and treating more cats
$125 will pay for the full spay/neuter/vaccination/deworm/flea and tick treatment/microchip of one cat
$250 will pay the wages of the cattery manager for a month--he works six long days a week taking care of all the cats
$325 will pay the wages of one kennel hand for a month

Hermes and Gracy are happy, healthy, spoiled-rotten cats and for their birthdays I'd like to try to help some of the animals that have harder lives. Every dollar helps and is put to good use.
