Story
In 2012 I gave birth to my second child Elliot, knowing that any time I had with him would be precious. Elliot was diagnosed with a condition known as Trisomy 18 or Edwards Syndrome at our 20 week anomaly scan. This condition was deemed to be incompatible with life, a term no one ever wants to hear said about their child.
We received support from specialist midwives and staff at the hospital before during and after Elliot's birth. All of whom, alongside EACH, were instrumental in getting us home with Elliot just four hours after his birth. This was extremely important to us and allowed us time to be at home just like any other family with their new baby.
Elliot lived for 17 magical hours and 5 minutes and was our amazing little man who taught us so much in such a short space of time.
Elliot would have been 5 on 8th June and in honour of his birthday I wanted to raise money to support the Baby Bereavement group who do so much to support families following the loss of their precious babies.
They are continually fundraising to provide resources and comfortable surroundings for families who suffer baby loss. The recently appointed bereavement midwife, is also making links with the early pregnancy unit and neonatal unit to ensure the service they provide is seemless. They desperately need extra resources such as another cuddle cot and unlimited memory boxes. They are also looking to provide bereavement training to health care professionals to ensure communication and compassion are at the heart of the service.
Please help me to support this worthy cause in memory of my Little Man.
Thank you so much
