Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in the Great South 10 mile run to raise money for the MNDA.
I am running in memory of my mother Barbara Briggs who died of this horrid disease in September 2005. She was the bravest person I have ever met, hardly ever complained about the pain and discomfort she was in, and was always ready to listen to other people’s problems. I miss her every day.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. At present, there is no cure!
I would like to help raise money to support a great charity - MNDA who offer support to sufferers and vital research to find a cure.
The great south run will be quite a challenge for me - I have experience of running a 10k and 5K on the same day for race for life in July 2016, I will need to up my game to run 16K (10 miles) all at once this time.
I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me for the race and help raise money and awareness for this cruel disease. Thank you. x
