Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running in the BUPA Great North Run on 15 September 2013 in memory of my father who passed away suddenly in 2008 following a sudden cardiac arrest.  I am raising money for Arrhythmia Alliance and more specifically their Hearts and Goals campaign.

Hearts and Goals is a national campaign to tackle the UK’s biggest killer, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

·          *  In the UK every year 100,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest  (SCA)

·           * It claims more lives than breast cancer, lung cancer and Aids  combined

·           * CPR only saves the lives of 9% who suffer SCA

·         *   CPR when used alongside an automated external defibrillator (AED)  massively increases the survival rate from 9% to 50%

By running 13.1 miles, I am hoping to raise enough money to fund at least one AED to be placed in the community.  Please support me, by sponsoring me as little or as much as you can afford.

Thank you!
