We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is my fourth time running the Great North Run in aid of The Alzheimer's Society.

700, 000 people in the United Kingdom have dementia and 1 in 3 people will end their life with some form of it.

My dad got diagnosed with Alzheimer's in December 2006 and without the support and help from The Alzheimer's Society life wouldn't be able to remain as enjoyable as possible for my dad as well as the rest of my family.

The Alzheimer's Society not only provides practical and emotional help for the millions of sufferers and carers in Britain but also funds research into new groundbreaking treatments and searches for cures; without financial donations the work the Society does wouldn't be able to continue, so please dig deep and donate now, it's appreciated by so many people.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
