On the 14th of November 2016 I was induced due to being overdue with our first child. Unfortunately following what was a fairly normal labour India was born extremely unwell. India required resuscitation and extensive medical input. India suffered bilateral collapsed lungs, kidney and liver problems and luckily just mild damage to her brain. After doctors at Barnstaple spent many hours of hard work stabilising India, she was transferred to Derriford where she required 3 days of cooling, ventilation and multiple transfusions amongst other things. She had round the clock care by incredible doctors and nurses for 10 days.  Initially what was a very bleak outlook India pulled through but only due to the amazing care she had at the Derriford Neonatal Intensive Care unit. India is now doing amazingly and will be continued to be followed up at hospital for a couple of years to make sure she is still doing well. 

The amount of care, love and compassion given to my husband and I whilst India was unwell was incredible. They provided on ward accommodation to enable us to be with India around the clock. The ward was full of unwell babies like India,  all requiring intensive medical support. Without donations they could not do the amazing work that they do for families like us.  Any donation will be much appreciated.
