I’m not quite sure how to start this post….but here goes.
Sadly my wonderful mum lost her life due to Covid-19 on the 28th October 2021. This shattered mine and my family’s world into pieces, I never ever thought I’d be able to live properly again. Truth is… I am only just starting my journey into learning how to live life without my mum, she is my best friend and I miss her terribly. A week after mum passed away my uncle Gary, mums brother, suffered a heart attack. I took him straight to A&E where he was then blue lighted to LGI and had a stent fitted within 20 minutes. I thought my world was breaking again that day but thanks to the amazing paramedics and heart team at the LGI uncle Gary is with us, and getting fitter each day.
In January I joined a running club called TOWN 2 5K. My grandad had recently done the challenge and had spoken to me about this a few weeks after mum had passed and I’m so grateful he did.
I found some motivation and plucked up the courage to sign myself up to join the January group. My grandma and grandad also joined for support. This group has been the one thing that I have managed to stick to and actually look forward to each week. I have a lot of training to do before the GNR but I know mum is cheering me on from above. If I start to struggle when out running I just think of mum, how brave and strong she was and this is what keeps me going. I am doing this for you mum and to help an amazing charity to save more lives, just like my uncle Gary.
Any donation, big or small is so so appreciated.
Lots of love, always 💜
