Story
These guys do an awesome job and need some support! I’ve personally used this service which enabled me to carry on my breastfeeding journey through some much needed dental work. Being a new Mum and breastfeeding can be tricky so having a resource which offers free evidence based advice is invaluable. Being active can be hard with a baby so I’ve signed up to the 20km in October challenge to give me some additional motivation to get moving!
The Breastfeeding Networks Big Tea Break is an annual fundraising event running between 1st-31st October 2018, raising money for our Drugs in Breastmilk information service.Through this service, we have been offering independent, evidence-based, confidential information and support via a trained pharmacist and volunteers since 1995. The demand for the service has increased every year and we now receive on average 550 emails per month from health professionals and families. We also have a very busy Facebook page @BfNDrugsinBreastmilkinformation which receives around 600 requests for support every month. One in every five of the questions we receive via the Drugs in Breastmilk service is related to treatments for mental health issues and there has been a significant rise in these questions over the last few years. The service doesnt receive any external funding so we rely on fundraising and donations to keep the service running.
