Story
Many of you will know of my personal grapples with infertility and how passionate I am to raise awareness of this challenging situation many men and women find themselves in. Through the support of others, including those at Fertility Network UK, I have gained the strength to pursue a journey to motherhood and have a family. Without the help of Fertility Network UK I would still be sat at the bottom of a mountain unable to put one foot in front of the other. I've now registered as one of the #100FertilityFaces and committed myself to raise £100 for this incredible charity during National Fertility Awareness Week.
National Fertility Awareness Week aims to raise awareness and change perceptions of fertility issues, as well as raising funds to help us provide much-needed support for the 1 in 6 couples, and others, in the UK who struggle with infertility. Fertility Network UK is the UK’s leading patient-focused fertility charity and we need you to help us continue to provide our free support services to anyone affected by fertility issues. We receive no guaranteed funding so please donate what you can; it will make a difference. Last year our free Support Line dealt with almost 4,100 enquiries. We want to do even more next year. Your donations will help us to:
campaign for better access to NHS fertility treatment
support and advise all those affected by fertility issues
continue to run and extend our free Support Line service
increase our regional network of staff to provide direct local support
extend our online services and peer support groups
recruit and train more volunteers to help you
increase the support services for those facing the challenges of childlessness
continue to raise awareness of the impact of infertility and the need for
fertility education to help protect and maintain future fertility
National Fertility Awareness Week will take place on Monday
30 October- Sunday 5 November 2017 and this year, along with trying to raise much needed funds, we want to highlight several focus areas - #IVFis40, #TalkFertility #FertilityFellas #IVFGoldStandard.
Go to our website www.NFAW.org.uk and find out more about the aims of the week and how to get involved.
