On the 5th of august 2011,my husband and I awoke to find jack grey,weezy,floppy and smothered in green sick,along with his clothes,and bedding.We rushed to our local hospital,and ran into the reception of the A n E department.As soon as we got there the words"GREY BABY"was being shouted!straight away every doctor and nurse in the A n E department that morning rushed into the room we had been put into,They had no idea what was the matter with our baby,poor heart rate,low suger levels maybe he was diabetic said one doctor..hes exstreamly poorly said another!for a hour n half these doctors and nurses worked on jack to stablise him 2 get him 2 another hopsital 16 miles away!Jack was rushed by ambulance to grimsby hospital.On route the ambluance team we incontact with special care baby unit!We was in urgent need of every possible doctor/pediatrican avaliable..a critiitically ill baby was being brought in,heart rate dropping by the miniute.On arrival we was greeted by a team of 14 doctors and nurses,jacks heart rate was dropping he was getting sicker by the second!They quickly got to work,giving jack drugs.The doctor in charge of the team,rang sheffield resusitation team asking for urgent medical help!"we need a team here now""we need urgent help"The doctor in charge informed sheffield team what was happening to jack and that things were going from bad to worse,his blood levels were not good..his chest was filling up with acid and his lungs were stiffing up..sheffild hospital informed the doctors in grimsby there were on there way, and givening step by step instructions on how to help jack ! they remained on the phone untill they got into grimsby hopsital.Lines were going in jack,pumping drugs though his body!"were treating him for everything"we have no idea what is the matter with him""hes very sick"jacks temperature was dropping..to the point they could no longer get a temperature of him!BEEEEEEEEEP!IJacks heart stops!i could not belive my eyes!watching on the monitor there was no heartbeat my baby.. gone!no he was a fighter!and i was certainly not going to give up on him!The doctors did not give up either!jack came back!!my heart started beating again 2! my little boy was a fighter,For a futher two hours a doctor stood and did heart massage to try and improve things..but results were coming back very very poor..we was informed that it was very likey that jack would die,xrays showed that acid was filling up quick in his body,he was not responding to anything,sheffield resusitation team were trying everything they possiblly could,trying everydrug they had they never gave up on him!!at this point we was told we should go and talk to him and spend every second with him,i was holding his hand and kisin his face,praying my baby would just scream,move his finger just something so i new he would b okay but he didnt,he just lie there with all these line of drugs in him, "jack please dont give up on us,mummy loves us so much,please god dont take my baby"the tears we cried  the heartache the pain there are just no words to this date on how decribe the feeling of what i was feeling that day,! the doctors carried on working around us along with a vicor who stood at jacks head and christened him for us! it was heartbreaking to see all this going on. a few moments later jack died,this time it was for good,sheffield tried to get him back but after 20 mins it was decided that enough was enough,there was no comming back from this..jack had died.There work was incrediable!No adult would of surived let alone a baby The day jack died wil forever haunt me,it was the day my heart shattered into a billion peices and will never be the same again,after jack died his body went back over to sheffield for a postmortan as nobody new what had happened to him,what went wrong??2days before me and my husband were due to get married we recived jacks postmortan,it reveled jack had been born with hirschsprung diease which had developed into serve complications,nectroctising entercolisits,peritontis this then lead to sepsis(blood poisoning)n then onto focal cortical ecrosis in the adrenal gland and finally a lung hemmorage.

Jack fighted for his life and we are very very proud parents to have such a beautiful little boy,what he went through no adult wud of suvived let alone a baby!There currently is no cure for hirschsprung diease,we dont no where it came from,they say it can be inhertited or it can come out of no were.. I now belive that i was chosen to have a son an angel  <3

i guess in its a lesson to us all!never ever judge a book by its cover!!just because someone looks okay on the outside dosnt mean they atually are!jack was a very very sick baby and no1 new,how,what or why.. until his postmortan came through.

I am forever greatful to sheffield resusitation team for everything they did in tryin to save our babys life!there work is just out of this world,and i wil continue to support them with there incredable work!

I am doing this run not just for jack but for ever other child that may need there help one day!you never  no when you may need them,so many people say oh i dont/wont need them but you might and we should support such an amazing hospital for all the work they do! please please help me help them!!
