We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

I’m more of a lager over leggings girl and never thought in a million years that I’d run the London marathon.

But, earlier this year my good friends Alfie and Rosie experienced the unthinkable, their beautiful daughter, Mila, had a cardiac arrest at just 13 weeks old. Mila was rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) where they saved her life (and my friends lives in many ways). She was later diagnosed with a very rare heart condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy and has received unbelievable care from the hospital since.

Children with Mila’s condition often need heart transplants, and her future is still uncertain. However, if it wasn’t for the staff at GOSH, Mila wouldn’t have ever been able to say her first words, read her first book, take her first steps, splash in fountains, visit farms, play with dogs and cats (which she loves). By saving Mila’s life they’ve given her, and her family, all of those firsts and precious moments.

I’ve felt powerless to help dear friends that I love but eternally grateful that they have had the support of Great Ormond Street.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could donate to my Just Giving page. It doesn’t matter how big or small! The funds raised will go towards the hospitals ongoing care of brave children like Mila, and support for their families in challenging times.

The marathon is in just 6 weeks. Please share this link as much as possible!
