Story
I started running when I was 22 years old in an attempt to manage my PTSD following a near death experience, shortly after having my first daughter. 19 years later and running is still a huge part of my life, it alleviates my anxiety and stress and is definitely my happy place. It also allows me to eat lots of cake, my second favourite hobby 😃
I’ve always wanted to run the London Marathon and have run plenty of half marathons, but never a full one. I am excited, but equally scared about pushing myself that extra distance, however, your support and donations will absolutely give me the motivation to keep training and stay focused.
I applied to run for the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust and was selected for a charity ballot place, I have chosen to fundraise for the General Fund to help support our amazing staff and patients. Everyone is aware how incredibly challenging the last two years have been in healthcare due to Covid, so these donations will go towards enabling the charity to improve patient experience, patient care and staff opportunities.
I am proud to work for the NHS and feel very privileged to get the opportunity to run for our charity. I am thoroughly grateful for every penny that is donated to my London Marathon adventure.
*Together we can do more for our hospitals and patients. Patients are diagnosed and treated faster, families and loved ones are more comfortable, and staff travel out of county for specialised training - all through generous support given to Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity.Your support moves care at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance & St Michael's Hospital, Hayle), beyond the basic provision of the NHS*.
