I started off with a £250 target but thanks to the huge generosity of people I’ve been able to increase it! 

Next month I will be doing the National Deaf Children’s Society 50k in May. They’re asking people to raise money by walking or running 50k (safe to say I’ll be walking😂) 

They really are a great charity offering so much support to children and their families from support groups and activities to helping provide schools with advanced technology giving children the opportunity to achieve their full potential. 

I’ve never really posted anything on social media about my little girl Emel; partly because I never really knew what to say she’s just a normal happy little girl that doesn’t let anything hold her back. Emel has profound hearing loss and thanks to the advancement in technology she had a cochlear implant fitted 2 years ago.

She’d never heard music before, never heard my voice and so many other little things that we don’t even think about. She only said her first word at almost 3 years old. 

Now Emel can hear, her speech is slowly progressing and she’s getting so much benefit from a wide range of services that we’re lucky to have available to us. 

As a mum I’m always worrying am I doing enough to help her and it’s thanks to the re-assurance of the various speech therapists, teachers of the deaf, the deafness resource centre, consultants at hospital, audiologists and more that allow Emel to have the same opportunities that she deserves. 

I’ve added the link to the just giving page below. A lot of people are doing this via Facebook fundraisers but I know a lot of people aren’t always using Facebook and this allows me to reach as many people as possible.

My target is £500, I know times haven’t been easy but if anyone could spare anything, any donation no matter how small is really appreciated! Also could everyone please share this post and really help me reach my target! Thanks everyone! 😊
