Story

Long post so please go with it 😂

Sharing this again as I’m going to start my 5 miles for 7 days challenge on Monday and I would like to raise as much as possible for this amazing charity!

💕 CMT is a condition that most of you won’t have heard of even though it affects 1 in 2500 people!

💕It is one of the most commonly inherited neurological disorders!

💕It is a slowly progressive condition which causes deterioration of peripheral nerves, which control sensory information and muscle function of the foot/lower leg and hand/forearm

💕There are so many symptoms to this condition, the main 2 being pain and fatigue which are caused by the sheer physical effort of life with muscles that are not functioning efficiently

💕CMT has no known cure.

💕I have chosen to run for Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK because like most charities over 2020 their funding has dropped massively due to events being cancelled and I would love to help them make back even a little bit of the short fall, as the work they do to help people with CMT and their families is awesome.

💕Closest to my heart is my amazing dad, who has CMT and to watch him in pain is heartbreaking, also because it’s a genetic condition I will soon be having testing to see if I too carry the gene! By running, if I can help just a little way to making someone else’s life a little more comfortable then it will be worth every mile!

💕Money is tight for all of us at the moment and I understand not everyone is in the position to donate and I completely understand that, BUT I will make this post shareable and if possible would love you to show your support by sharing my post in the hope I can raise as much money as I can for this little-known charity!

💕 I will post my progress from Monday for anyone who wants to follow, thank you for reading, Charlotte x

The aim  of the #7DayActiveChallenge is to complete 7 days of activity (chosen by the fundraiser , based on their fitness level, limits and ability) by 31st October. For example, it could include walking, chair-based exercises or even yoga! This year, donations to the charity CMT UK have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of fundraising events. This has resulted in a shortfall. The #CMTUKAppeal is aiming to raise £5,000 to help 'plug the gap'. CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) is a hereditary condition that damages the peripheral nerves, which means that muscles become progressively weaker over time, particularly in the hands and feet. CMT UK provides advice, support and information for people with the condition, family, carers and medical professionals.THANK YOU for your support. It makes a BIG difference to CMT UK and its members.
