Story
Hi! ✨✨✨ my name is Charlotte and I am a primary school teacher passionate about supporting children’s mental health and promoting positive well-being.
I am raising money for an organisation called Place2Be; a children’s mental health charity. They have over 25 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools and they believe that “children should not have to face mental health problems alone.”
I believe this too. 💓
Personally, I feel that children need to learn at a young age how to talk about, express, understand and manage their feelings and emotions so that they are equipped with the skills needed to look after their own mental health, in the hope that this helps them in later life. My ultimate goal is for mental health to become a BIG part of education. So much so that children from all backgrounds, including those who don’t have the greatest start to life, can still make a bright future for themselves. 💫
Since qualifying as a primary teacher, I have explored how I can make a positive difference to the lives of the children I work with. I’ve studied mental health first aid, psychological first aid, child bereavement, promoting resilience but I want to do even MORE! So I am now training with Place2Be on their “Mental Health Champion” course to learn even more about how I, as a primary teacher, can do my best to support children’s mental health. 👩🏼🏫
In order to raise money, I am going to run 50K throughout the month of May. Please donate if you can and I’ll get my trainers on!!!!!! ✨🦋✨🦋✨🦋
