Story

I have decided to undertake the Diamond Duke of Edinburgh challenge with friends from my Trefoil Guild group, the Ashton Amblers. Some of us have decided to walk the Bridgewater Canal in Manchester - 39 miles in total and over the highest aqueduct in England.

I want to raise at least £60 each for Duke of Edinburgh and Baby Beat Appeal; both truly excellent charities. The Duke of Edinburgh improves the lives of thousands of young people across the UK every year through their wonderful awards scheme. The Baby Beat Appeal is a charity close to my heart and it aims to support the maternity and neo-natal units in Preston to allow the team there to have the best equipment possible to support all mums and babies.

So I'm stocking up in the ibuprofen and knee supports for the old Granny knee and getting my boots on. I would be grateful of any donation you can give.
