Story
I am running the Paris Marathon on Sunday 14th of April in memory of one of my closest friends, Tiffany. The marathon is 42.2km, I have trained every day for the last 7 months for this race. 11 months after having my first baby, I have lost almost 30kg, run a total of 800km in sunshine, rain, hail, wind and sub zero temperatures all around the UK and Europe. I have overcome multiple injuries and can not believe it is only a few days until I will find myself at the start line in Paris! This is by far one of the biggest challenges I have ever set myself and I am so incredibly thankful for any support you can offer!
TIFF’S STORY:
Tiff was the type of friend who comes along once in a lifetime. Her absolute enthusiasm for life and the adventures she went on were incredible. She would light up a room with her infectious smile and made such a positive impact on the lives of those who were lucky enough to meet her. An amazing friend, daughter, sister, girlfriend, academic and horse owner... there was nothing in life she didn’t excel in.
Unfairly diagnosed with Melanoma at the end of 2014, like everything in her lifetime she fought courageously and with everything she had, however sadly passed away at the beginning of 2015, just after her 30th Birthday.
Tiff is a constant reminder for me to love everyday, learn from every experience and surround myself with people who make me so happy. She gives me perspective in everything I do and makes me strive to become the best mum, partner, vet, friend and daughter I can be.
While it’s wonderful to raise funds for such a worthy cause, I understand that many of our friends and families have new babies, mortgages and bills to pay. I hate asking people for money, so am instead asking if you can not donate, then please book yourself in with a reputable doctor for a skin cancer check this month. These things can happen so quickly to anyone and an early diagnosis is so important!
Thank you to everyone for your support for the marathon and in my training leading up to the big day, you will all be getting me to the finish line!
