Story
East Cheshire Hospice provided support for my Grandad following his diagnosis of cancer. Grandad had special spots in his body which meant he had different pains and needed special medication. It meant he couldn’t do some of the things he used to do, but he could go and have some relaxing time.
The hospice helped Grandad be more comfortable and make plans for when he wasn’t here anymore. They also let me see a play therapist on the same day Grandad was there and this helped me come to terms with him dying. I even went to see “his chair” the week after he died. It was hard but it helped me understand.
The hospice also helped my Grandma and my Mummy look after Grandad at home by organising equipment to make things easier.
I am climbing Ben Nevis and raising money so that other families can have the help and memories we had.
