Further detail:
The 6 peaks. WE DID IT
The Yorkshire 3 peaks is a 24 mile trek through the dales, with a total ascent of over 3000 metres. In 2019 I completed the 3 peaks to raise money for cancer patient support, it was relentless and tough. On the 26th September 2023 I will be attempting to climb Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside twice in 24 hours. This means getting to the finish line, not grabbing a pint, but instead turning around and going right back again. I am doing this to support Mind, and you can do the same by donating. Little or large, any amount will help.
I will be documenting the journey, from the first day of training, to the very last step and whether I fail or succeed, this will be released after the hike.
Machu Pichu:
The 4 day Inca trail trek at nearly 14,000 feet maximum elevation in the Peruvian hot and dry season- Machu Picchu is the challenge of a lifetime.
Again, the trip will be documented if you are interested.
My story and why.
Nearly everyone will experience a mental health challenge at some point in their life time. Every sufferer has a different story, a different reason or cause, a different battle. We all face difficulties, I myself lost my mother, Laura, when I was 13, this was a major hardship in my life. Mind offers help, support and advice to those in need. They provide specialist advice to those under the age of 18, another reason why I chose to support Mind.
Mental health support in the UK can be poor and are currently very underfunded, waiting lists can be long, people are not receiving care when they need it most. This is why charities such as mind are more important than ever.
You never know when you or a loved one may need to use a mental health service. Help Mind today.
