Story
I've only been able to walk for 4 months, but there's no stopping me now...over the course of October, I'll be toddling a total of 20km, and would love it if you would sponsor me to raise money for the Breastfeeding Network. They are lovely people who run drop-in groups to help mums and babies with breastfeeding, as well as giving out helpful information about which medications are safe for breastfeeding mums (which often even doctors aren't sure about). They were really helpful to me and mum when I was tiny, so we want to raise some money for them to say thank you.
If you're able to give a donation, no matter how big or small, we'd be very grateful indeed. Thank you very much! xxx
Here's some more info from the BfN...
The Breastfeeding Network's Big Tea Break is an annual fundraising event running between 1st-31st October 2018, raising money for our Drugs in Breastmilk information service.Through this service, we have been offering independent, evidence-based, confidential information and support via a trained pharmacist and volunteers since 1995. The demand for the service has increased every year and we now receive on average 550 emails per month from health professionals and families. We also have a very busy Facebook page, @BfNDrugsinBreastmilkinformation, which receives around 600 requests for support every month. One in every five of the questions we receive via the Drugs in Breastmilk service is related to treatments for mental health issues and there has been a significant rise in these questions over the last few years. The service doesn't receive any external funding so we rely on fundraising and donations to keep the service running.
