Story
My name is Charlie Moss and this is my story.
In February 2018 my world changed forever when I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. At the age of 21, I never imaged having to grow up and go through life without a dad, so I'm trying to raise awareness in the hope no that one else has to go through what I've been through.
A late diagnosis played a huge part in the premature loss of my dad, and although a bitter pill to swallow, we made the most of the time we had left. Being told its too late for any effective treatment is hard to hear, and although you spend the time mentally preparing for the worst, nothing could ever prepare you for when the worst does happen.
I'm fighting to raise funds to allow doctors to catch signs of pancreatic cancer before its too late, Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers. 1 in 4 people won’t survive a month, the other 3 in 4 won’t survive for a year.
Ironically my dad always joked about how awful it would be to jump out of a plane, so in his memory me and my girlfriend are skydiving from 10,000 feet to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK, in the hope that anyone else fighting this horrific battle can either win, or at least have more time than I did with him.
I would be eternally grateful for donations of any amounts towards this cause which is very close to both mine, and my family's hearts.
In memory of an incredible father, husband, brother and amazing friend to many.
