Outlaw Triathlon 2011 · 24 July 2011 ·

We support wounded Forces and families to improve their lives

Story

On the 18th February 2010, a very good friend of mines brother Dougie Dalzell lost his life in Afghanistan whilst commanding 2 platoon in 1 company, 1st battalion Coldstream Guards. This was on the day of his 27th birthday as a result of an IED.

On the 24th July I shall be attempting to complete the Outlaw Ironman (http://www.onestepbeyond.org.uk/the-outlaw-triathlon.php) which for those of you that don't know is one of the toughest endurance events around. It is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile open water swim, a 112 mile road cycle and then to top it all off a 26.2 mile marathon.

I shall be running this in aid of the Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust(http://www.dougiedalzellmemorialtrust.co.uk/). The Trust seeks to assist persons who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces, and their dependants, and thereby improve the quality of life of soldiers who have given so much for their country.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
