Story
Charlie and Mike are doing the London to Brighton Night ride this year in July to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. As you may know I (Charlie) have a heart condition known as SVT which is yet to be sorted and has been troubling me for nearly 14 years now.
I am a bit of a rare case as normally SVT is easily treated however in my case I have had a rare type in which only one in a million people are diagnosed as well as having just the normal SVT so it is proving harder to find a long term solution. Although not life threatening on a daily basis it does cause some discomfort and can be problematic as well as not allowing me to plan forward for the future for example having a family as this can be dangerous and exacerbate my heart condition further.
I also have other people in my life that I know have experienced heart conditions and problems or that their loved one's have experienced heart problems and for this reason I felt a huge pull in my heart to participate in the London to Brighton Night Ride to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
My lovely partner Mike is joining me on this endeavour during which I am sure I will slow him down during the ride as he is an avid cyclist and well me I am very much an amateur however despite this we will both be putting our efforts in and cycling to the finish line! Mike and has been extremely supportive throughout with my heart problem and I am so glad we can do this challenge together.
We're hoping to raise £500 for BHF to plow into their research into heart conditions, so that in the future perhaps people will not have to suffer from heart conditions and if so they can be easily managed or treated.
We have a joint fundraising page because Charlie has a far superior social network and I (Mike) would be badly embarassed by two different fundraising targets!!! So all donations will be greatly received in going towards this worthy cause and greatly appreciated by myself and Mike.
