Motor Neurone Disease (MND) affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness that gets worse over time. It significantly shortens life expectancy and no cure has been found yet for this disease. The MND association funds and promotes research into this terrible disease and provides support to sufferers and their families.
In 2014, Tom's Auntie passed away at the age of 45 after being diagnosed 13 months earlier. However, she had many symptoms before her diagnosis and was unable to speak due to the way MND affected her, this made it much more difficult.
More recently Rob Burrow, an ex-rugby league player for Leeds Rhinos, has been diagnosed with MND and the profile of the work of the MND association has been raised as a result.
More research into finding a cure is needed. Your help in sponsoring will support the fantastic work done by the MND Association. Thanks for taking the time to look at our page and we really appreciate every donation made!
