Story
In Summer 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will unite in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree for ten days of teamwork and personal development, along with the chance to visit Seoul and other cities of culture. The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. We're so proud that we have been nominated to represent our district and be part of the thousands of UK young people aged 14 to 17 and their leaders visiting South Korea as the UK Contingent.
Each attendee needs to raise £4,000 to participate, which we are required to raise ourselves; part of this will support scouts from less economically developed countries in their quest to attend.
Additional to fundraising as a team I am also embarking on a personal challenge to swim 5,500 metres. I have chosen this distance to represent the 5,500 miles I will travel to Korea. I will be taking on this challenge in the Easter holidays.
I hope you can support me in reaching my target to reach The World Scout Jamboree.
