Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So why the London Triathlon, well I guess I just wanted to look back and see that I had done something that was fairly challenging, although as with any of these things I have realised it might have been better keeping the thought of the challenge in my head!! :):)

I did do a mini Triathlon last weekend (30th May) and got through it , but worryingly it was only half of the distances I will be undertaking on 8th August. So as you can imagine a rigorous training plan for the next 9 weeks to increase distances and pace is essential. Please do come along for the day and if you visit www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk it shows you the best places for spectators asit really is a fantastic day out.

My charity, Action for Blind People, give amazing support to those that are visually impaired, allowing them to still go for interviews, secure jobs, pay bills and everything that those of us who can see take for granted.

The confidence dent that many visually impaired individuals experience when they lose their sight over a period of 4 - 6 weeks, often having been fully visual for 30 years and having had fantastic careers before is mind blowing and although the support given will rarely achieve exactly the same life as before, it does make a huge difference.  Please visit their page to see some of the inspirational stories of these individuals www.actionforblindpeople.org.uk

I wonder what a different life we would be leading if we were visually impaired, it's not really as simple as , I won't be able to drive, what about you cannot read the tube map so you don't know which platform to get on, it is so restricting. I have done some work with those that have these difficulties and I would ask you to give generously as for me, it is inspirational when with the right support how many of these individuals get back out there and into work, raise their families but none of it is every without so many little battles along the way.
