Story
Kate ran the London Marathon in 2021. I got jealous as it had been on my to-do list for a very long time and then Kate beat me to it. I've decided that it's time for me to lace up my trainers and attempt it myself. Kate couldn't let me have all the glory though so she signed up too.
Together we're training to tackle the 26.2 miles in London this October. We've still got a long way to go before we're ready to line up on the start line.
I’ve always wanted to run the London Marathon and with it being such a big challenge, I thought it was a brilliant opportunity to raise money for a charity that is important to me.
The orthopaedic hospital played a pivotal part in life-saving care I received when I was a teenager. They also employ lots of people in our local area, including my Mum and two cousins. We’re lucky to have this centre of excellence in Shropshire.
The RJAH Charity raises funds to support patients and staff to ensure world class patient care is delivered.
Donations go towards purchasing state of the art equipment and facilities and providing extra comfort to the patients. Both Kate and I know individuals who have hugely benefitted from these provisions.
Thank you for your support. It really will help me put one foot in front of the other (again and again for 26.2 miles) come marathon day.
