Charlie’s flat head syndrome developed in the first 2
months of his life. Due to his rapid growth and preferred sleeping position his head started to become deformed. We have tried different techniques to take the pressure off the right side of his head and let the skull grow but, unfortunately, the flattening became severe. Paediatricians and health visitors said to wait as
the shape of Charlie’s head will change and possibly improve. After waiting for 9 months we finally decided to take Charlie for an assessment as the shape of his head was not improving and we were getting very concerned. We took Charlie to Technology in Motion clinic in Birmingham.  For the first time someone was able to tell us how severe the flattening was and what could be done about it. Luckily, Charlie was not too old for the cranial helmet therapy and the consultant was very optimistic as what the results could be if we started the treatment straight away.

Because the treatment is not funded by NHS, we are turning to YOU to helps us gather the money needed for Charlie’s therapy. Even the smallest amount will help. Thank you for all your support.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be
used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with
Tree of Hope’s charitable objects.  If in those circumstances we are
unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in
accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects, then any funds that cannot
be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of
Tree of Hope.
