Story
I have worked at DMRC (Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre) at Stanford Hall and previously at Headley Court, for the last 11 years as a physio treating Complex Trauma patients, so I see first hand what the Benevolent Fund can do to make the rehabilitation journey more fulfilling for the patients we treat. DMRC provides rehabilitation to serving military personnel who have ben seriously injured and I am passionate about my job as a physio here and I cannot imagine working anywhere else that is as rewarding. This is why this cause is close to my heart.
The Benevolent Fund is a volunteer-run charity that provides funding to support holistic, occupational and social integration opportunities, for serving military patients at DMRC Stanford Hall, that are not provided by public funding.
So.....on 1st April 2022, I will be cycling from DMRC, near Loughborough, down to the South coast of England and then across France and finishing in the Principality of Monaco. A mere 850 miles, to be ridden in 9 days. Thankfully not solo....that would be bonkers but a with 17 strong peloton. It's going to be a really demanding ride for all of us but raising money for the Benevolent fund will inspire us to dig deep and spur us on when the going gets tough. Any donation would be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.
