Story
Alzheimer’s is a cause very close to my heart as my Gramps was diagnosed with it eight years ago, the person who's always been there for me growing up. Life changed drastically but we're now showing the world you can still have fun with dementia!
That all said someone will develop dementia every three minutes and currently there are 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK, which is estimated to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.
Everyone deserves meaningful support especially during their most challenging times, which is why your help is needed now, more than ever!
Alzheimer’s Society is a powerful force for change, committed to helping people affected by dementia now and in the future. Last year, people use Alzheimer’s Society’s services over 6 million times to access vital support and information and for many people they’ve become lifeline, offering help and hope – at just a click or phone call away. However, they simply could not continue doing the vital work they do, without your donations.
Since me and Gramps first began creating videos together, I’ve been blow away by the amount of responses and it’s opened my eyes to just how many people know someone who’s been affected by dementia in some way.
Which is why myself and my girlfriend Sophie are taking on Alzheimer’s Society’s Trek26 Challenge in the Lake District this June and would love all the support we can get.
While taking on the 26 mile Trek we’ll be enjoying the beauty of Ullswater lake, but most importantly we will be surrounded by others affected, supporting each other and raising money to ensure that no one faces dementia alone.
Your generosity will make a huge difference to the lives of those affected. Thank you!
