We help local people to face incurable illness and bereavement

Story

10 years ago my grandad, John Drury, was diagnosed with lung cancer, and after a couragous battle for 6 months he passed away on 30.07.00.

A year ago on the 4th June my grandad, Peter Beton, was also diagnosed with malignant lung cancer, which later spread to his brain and bones.  After a very brave battle and numerous chemotherapy attemps he passed away very peacefully on 29.10.09 at St. Helena Hospice in Colchester.

To honour their memory and to give something back to the wonderful nurses and carers of St. Helena Hospice for their invaluable support for my family over some difficult times i will be participating in a midnight half marathon on June 5th this year.  Please sponsor me to raise money for this fantastic charity so they can continue all their care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses.
