Story
Hello!
Firstly, thanks for thinking of sponsoring me.
I’m going to be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 7 October in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Cancer has sadly affected the lives of several of my family members and friends, and breast cancer in particular has been the cause of much pain and heartache. One of my best friends works for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and having heard so much about their impressive research, campaigns and educational projects, I was massively inspired and reassured by the advancements they’re making - Breakthrough’s findings have led to numerous clinical trials of potential new treatments that could benefit thousands of women. They also strive to raise awareness of the early detection of breast cancer, as well as pushing for better screening services across the country. I was encouraged to do my bit and get involved in Breakthrough’s campaigning to contribute towards their significant work.
Having been motivated by another of my closest friends running the London Marathon for charity earlier this year, I decided to take on a personal challenge to help support this amazing organisation. With (very!) minimal running experience I ambitiously thought a half marathon would make a suitable start, and then came the day when training began…
13 weeks down, with 3 more to go, I’m running distances I never ever thought I would manage, and hope I can cross the 13 mile mark on the big day to raise as much support as possible for the incredible work that Breakthrough Breast Cancer carries out.
I would be really grateful for your support towards this cause, and thank you for any donations!
Much love,
Charlie x
