Basically, I decided to sign up for this big swim, thinking it would be a Really Good Idea. As it has got closer, the idea has got more daunting. For a start it is going to be darn cold, even with a wetsuit! But I'm quite bloody minded, and I will do it.

I chose Marie Curie for obvious reasons: cancer is cancer, I've supported them before, and their work makes a real difference. It also ties in nicely with me giving up smoking! Please give what you feel you can - even if it's 10p or whatever, don't feel embarrassed.
