Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be raising money for NICU and the Jenny Lind children's hospital at NNUH. I will be walking/running and cycling my way along the inland Norfolk boarder a distance of 150 miles. Starting near Terrington St Clement and finishing at Great Yarmouth pier I will be doing this over two days with great friends joining along the way and as road support.
At the end of the second day I will be completing my challenge joined by a very special little girl, Eleanor-Mae who has inspired my challenge this year! Eleanor-Mae along with her Mummy (Laura), will be walking the final mile with me!
Eleanor-Mae's daddy (Matthew) will be joining me earlier on the the second day as a running partner and to make sure I don't get lost or catch the bus to the finish 😛
So by now you are probably wondering why we are doing this ........... Eleanor-Mae was born at 37 weeks by elective c section due to poor feotal growth. Laura had been having growth scans since 25 weeks and the aim was to get to 38 weeks.
Eleanor-Mae spent 10 days in NICU due to low birth weight and needed tube feeding & treatment for Jaundice. As a family we were able to stay with her in a special room which made a big difference to be with her. On discharge she received support from the NICU outreach team for her weight and to be continually monitored.
Over the coming weeks Eleanor-Mae was having problems and eventually got diagnosed as having silent reflux and an Allergy to Milk. Eleanor-Mae has been continually supported by the Jenny Lind department and by and by Dr Booth, Neo-natal Paediatrician. She now has multiple allergies and is awaiting an eye operation in August this year.
Laura and Matthew would like to say a big thank you to the NICU and Jenny Lind departments for all of their support and help.
So please donate if you can! Whether you would like to sponsor myself, Mathew or Eleanor-Mae, every little helps the work these wonderful people do for babies, children and their families !! ❤️
