Dear All
Did it! Thanks entirely to Ning's sports massage last Thursday and Eileen's tips about more effective stretching exercises. I managed to keep going all the way round in time to see the Red arrows barrel rolling in the blue skies above the River Tyne estuary.
And the time? a respectable 2 hours and 10 minutes. It was amazing to run with so many people and wonderful to enjoy the encouragement of 1000's more spectators lining the entire length of the course. I will never forget how I began my first GNR by doing a high five with our former PM Tony Blair!
I also could not believe how quickly they cleared up the sea of empty water bottles discarded along the way. Driving past the mile long queues for the ferry, bus and metro in a taxi back along the GNR route i could not believe such a huge event had just been held there.
Will I go again next year? Maybe. Thanks again for your support, especially Godson William and Katie, Michael and Camilla.
love
Charlie
PS Cash for Kids is the new name for Just for Kids and the good news is that even more money will now go into charity funds in the NE. MetroRadio have joined up with 19 other radio station charities across the UK, under the 'Cash for Kids' banner, in a bid to increase their funding for local children by nearly £2-5 million this year
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Metro Radio and Magic 1152's Cash for Kids gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
