Story
Hello everyone
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. As you can see, I have finally decided to do away with the long golden locks I have had for over a decade. Whilst cleaning up my appearence and stopping the incessant "why do you have long hair if you're a boy?" questions from the primary school kids I teach, I thought this would also be a good way to raise money for a worthwhile charity, as cancer has recently effected a number of people close to me. I'm sure it has effected most people in some way.
So here is the plan. I am going to have a party on Friday 26th February 2010 at the Honor Oak Pub,1 St Germans Road, Forest Hill, London, SE23 1RH for anyone who wants to have a drink and observe the spectacle of me finally cutting my locks off (I have been threatening this for years!). For those who don't want to or can't come, the event will be filmed and posted online for all to see! I was inititally aiming for a target of £1000, which I am chuffed to say has already been raised! I have now but it up to £1500 as the first grand was raised so amazingly quickly. My actual hair will be sent to The Little Princess Trust www.littleprincesses.org.uk who make wigs for children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment.
Please give as generously as you can. Literally every penny helps. Those coming to watch are welcome to donate cash on the night, however I urge everyone who would like to donate to do so on this Just Giving website, as they are able to claim Gift Aid on your behalf, turning a £10 donation to around £12 (for UK taxpayers). All you need to do is fill in a short form and make a payment.
Thanks for listening, and I look forward to keeping you updated.
Charly :)
