We did it to raise money for PROJECT PERU a UK-based charity
offering food, clothes, education, shelter and fun to those in need, in a
country where nearly half the population exists on less than one dollar
a day! Project Peru runs a children's refuge in the shanty towns near Lima,
caring for over 30 children and is entirely funded through voluntary effort.
Last September 10 volunteers built a Soup Kitchen, in a shanty town called Laderas, to benefit children who do not have access to healthy meals or who are vulnerable because they are on the street. Check out the photos above - you will be amazed to see what 10 volunteers accomplished in just 6 weeks, sweating it out in the dusty hot streets of Peru. And at night they went back to the Project Peru Children's Refuge (15 miles away) and helped entertain the children there!
This September 10 more volunteers are returning to build a new community facility to benefit disabled children living in the shanty town. You can see more about the charity at http://www.projectperu.org.uk
Misha and I really want to help raise funds for this charity and so your support will be really appreciated. Please help us to help these children. THANK YOU !
