Brathay - London Marathon
Fundraising for Brathay Trust
Fundraising for Brathay Trust
I am joining a team of Brathay runners who will be completing the 26.2 mile London marathon course to raise funds for Brathay Trust. But I am also running the Tokyo and Boston marathons plus the Mallerstang and Nine Standards Yomp (a 22 mile fell race). All of this is in memory of dear friends Martin and Matt Campbell.
Matt Campbell tragically died running the London marathon in 2018, raising money for the amazing life changing work of the Brathay Trust in memory of his father Martin who had also tragically died only just before and did so much himself to support the work at Brathay. Matt died with 3.7 miles to go to the end of the race, and sparked an upsurge of sympathy amongst runners who wanted to finish Matt's marathon by running 3.7 miles in his memory.
Martin supported me through a really tough time in my life and it is heart-breaking that we and his lovely family have lost both Martin and Matt in such desperately sad circumstances. I am therefore running my own 3.7 in memory of Martin and Matt over 3 continents and 3 months:
Please support me, the memory of Martin and Matt Campbell, and the amazing work that Brathay does to enhance the life chances of disadvantaged children
