When I was around 4 years old I had to spend 2 years in Booth Halls Children's Hospital.  This was due to having a whole in my kidney.  During my time there I went to the hospital's school to continue my education and was able to be treated at the same time.  The nurses were fantastic in their ability to understand the needs of myself and other very young children; who don't understand what's going on properly or express what they are feeling with regard to their illness. I chose this charity as I want to try and give something back to the children's hospital as they helped me to get better as quickly as possible.  Getting married in August makes it seem appropriate, as I'm moving on with my life with a new step forward, to remember it might not have been possible without the specialist care the children's hospital provided me with.
