Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for my 1 in 10 challenge this month!
After going through the worst pain imaginable, physically and mentally during the last 6months - year, I want to share my story with as many people as possible to help raise awareness. If I'd have known about endometriosis when I was 14, I might not have had to put up with all the effects of endo for the last 16 years!!
Throughout March, I will post info about endo on my social media, and let people know about the symptoms that they might even be experiencing themselves! After all, 1 in 10 women are affected!
And those who know me, know I'm rubbish at running and always have been! Put me in a pool and I'd swim 10k no problem, but put me on the road and it's a different matter! I conquered 5k without stopping last year and was hoping to get quicker, and more importantly to me, progress to 10k over the summer of 2020... but endo had other plans for me and made me stop sport and exercise all together!
So 9 weeks post op, I'm getting back to it and using the 1 in 10 challenge to spur me on! Realistically, my body isn't anywhere near ready to complete a 10k run, especially as I still have 3 weeks of "steady" rehab exercise before I'm meant to even be running properly, and I've a new numb thigh to get used to from the op 😬🙈... but I've decided to set myself a challenge of building towards a 10k walk/run at the end of the month. This time next year I'll smash the full 10k RUN!!
So, with my challenge prep in full swing, any donation to help this amazing charity raise awareness of endometriosis... A condition which effects 1 in 10 women... would be hugely appreciated! The chances are, someone in your family, work place or friendship group could be going through what I've been through, not knowing a thing about endo!
Please help me spread awareness 🎗️💛🎗️
