Story
The Manchester Marathon will be held on April 16th, one year to the day since we lost Charelle 💔
Those who were lucky enough to meet Charelle will know she had the most kind and considerate nature. She set an example for how to treat others; positively, with kindness and consideration. She always looked out for people despite her own long-term battles, so it seems fitting to sponsor this important mental health Charity and raise funds in her name. If they can help just one struggling local to see the light amongst the darkness, regain control of addictions or win the battle against eating disorders, then they are truly worth every penny.
A marathon is twice as long as my longest run to date and unfortunately for me I don't have long to train. I've done zero fitness since the half last year and only started training again when we booked this event around New Year's day. The first outing had me walking and wheezing after just one mile, but a handful of runs later and I'm starting to go further and recover quicker. I'm also on with dry January to compliment the training as I'd been drinking way too much of late and I already feel a lot better for it.
Needless to say the marathon combined with the significant date will be a major challenge, both physically and emotionally, but it will be worth all efforts to support this fantastic local charity. All donations will go towards providing vital mental health support and services throughout the NE Lincolnshire community.
My awesome buddy Steve Smith is doing the run with me to support this amazing cause. Please help us if you can, any donations will be massively appreciated and thanks for reading this far x
P.s. if anyone fancies a run, hit me up :-) I need to get out most nights! 🏃♂️
