Story
My son James was diagnosed at the age of 2 with an aggressive brain tumour known as an Anaplastic Ependymoma. For the last 5 years he has fought with everything he has. He has been faced with brain surgeries, intensive chemotherapy, proton radiation that required us to live in America for 3 months, photon radiation to his entire brain and spine and that's just the treatment. Side effects have included sight loss, hearing loss, memory loss, learning disabilities and mobility issues. As well as battling cancer James has also fought against Sepsis and meningitis numerous times. He is a true, real life hero.
January this year we were told that James had reoccured with his 6th brain tumour. He is due to undergo yet more surgery at the end of February. Time has always been extremely precious, but even more so now.
CLIC Sargent have been a huge part of our journey and so I would like to give something back. For the first year and a half of James' treatment, the CLIC Sargent Home from Home quite literally became just that. Whilst James received intensive treatment, myself, James' Dad and his twin brother lived in the CLIC home opposite the hospital for over 6 months. Without this and all the other support that CLIC Sargent have provided over the years, we would have been lost.
I can't make it better for James, I would if I could in a heartbeat. This is something that I can do though... I hope!
If you could donate anything at all we would all be extremely grateful. For James and for others like him.
